Newly created role reinforces long-term strategic importance of logistics and industrial sector and client demand for holistic occupier and investor services

January 21, 2021

SINGAPORE, 21 January 2021 – JLL (NYSE: JLL) has appointed Tom Woolhouse to the newly created role of Head of Logistics, Industrial and Supply Chain, Asia Pacific. Based in Singapore, Woolhouse will be responsible for expanding and enhancing JLL Asia Pacific’s capabilities across the entire value chain of this strategically important sector. He will also serve as a member of JLL’s Global Industrials Board.

His appointment will allow JLL’s clients to unlock new opportunities and better capitalize on the huge growth potential in industrial and logistics real estate in Asia Pacific. The acceleration of existing trends across supply chains, retail and e-commerce have led to an increased demand for services related to this sector and an advisory model that operates across diverse business lines and geographies. According to JLL Research, over 80% of investors expect to increase allocations into this sector in 2021 with estimates of 50% of global e-commerce logistics to be in Asia Pacific by 2024.

“Demand for logistics transactional advisory and supply chain consultancy services will grow as Asia Pacific continues to evolve and mature at a rapid pace. Tom’s experience will provide a new perspective to our clients in this region, adding depth to our service offering. This will ensure we continue to respond to our clients’ needs across a range of business lines and geographies,” says Anthony Couse, CEO, Asia Pacific, JLL.

Woolhouse joins JLL from CBRE UK. Previously based in London, he was a Senior Director, leading the Industrial & Logistics Capital Markets Team in the UK. To JLL, he brings broad experience in advising clients on the acquisition, disposal, development, and funding of single assets and portfolios in the UK industrial and logistics market.

He also brings an extensive global network to his new role. Throughout his career, Woolhouse has worked with a diverse range of global capital sources including institutions, private equity firms, property companies, high net worth individuals, REITs, developers and occupiers.

“Industrial and logistics assets will remain one of the most sought-after investment classes in the Asia Pacific region, and investors have consistently expressed their desire to understand the occupier and investment trends in both core and emerging markets. Tom’s arrival will provide an unrivalled layer of advisory expertise to our clients as they expand into this rapidly evolving asset class,” says Stuart Crow, CEO, Capital Markets, Asia Pacific, JLL.

Prior to CBRE, Tom was a Partner at Montagu Evans, jointly running the Business Space team.
