Show flats unveiled for yoo 18 Bonham in Mid-Levels West

HONG KONG, 23 November 2017 — Right in the historic heart of Hong Kong, 12 large luxury residential flats are being developed into the pinnacle of comfort and style at 18 Bonham Road, Mid-Levels West.  Upper floor units offer a striking panoramic view of Victoria Harbour. Two furnished show flats of the yoo 18 Bonham project, along with its clubhouse, are available for viewing today.

Rare duplexes with excellent harbour view

The simplex show flat on 9/F beautifully illustrates what can be achieved in interior design. Basking in natural sunlight, the living and dining room area provides tranquil comfort that is enhanced by the touch of elegant furniture. The luxury is understated and implied — a fine balance of colours and shapes that translates into a relaxing environment where you can unwind after a busy day.

The duplex show flat on 25/F & 26/F takes luxury a step further. Its sitting area is an oasis of pampered comfort that easily seats multiple guests in splendour while overlooking Victoria Harbour. The sumptuous table in the dining area oozes indulgence. A well-designed staircase leads down to the lower floor. The kitchen is practical and convenient and has all the modern appliances from top brands, such as Miele, Gaggenau and Siemens. The kitchen walls and floors are covered in natural marble slabs imported from Italy. The pursuit of quality in the kitchen is visible in the smallest details, in how the cabinets and appliances match seamlessly together. The same is true for the bathroom, where the marble slabs and fittings combine to make the ambience delightful.

Yoo 18 Bonham is the latest addition to the portfolio of London-based YOO Studio.  The internationally famed YOO Studio has developed 82 signature projects across 57 cities in 24 countries.

"We endeavour to create interiors that are imaginative, rare and individual for this luxurious residential project. All units in yoo 18 Bonham employ premium building materials and are fitted out with delicate care. They show an understated elegance and sleek modernity that make the flats sumptuous declarations of a joie de vivre," says Andrew Pang, Managing Director at YOO Studio in Asia Pacific.

Private, understated luxury

yoo 18 Bonham is a low-density project, comprising three simplexes, eight duplexes and one triplex. The saleable area ranges from about 1,228 to 3,721 sq ft.  Each unit at yoo 18 Bonham has two lifts (a main lift and a service lift).  Each simplex has two private lift lobbies. Each duplex and the triplex have two floors of private lift lobbies. This means that the residents of each unit can enjoy a high degree of privacy, as though each unit is a private home.

The walls and floors of the main lift lobby of each unit are adorned with a unique pattern of high quality Italian marble and crystalline stone, with a unique set of colours. Thus, each unit has a lift lobby with a distinctive style.

The main wall of the ground floor lobby consists of a large marble sculpture created by Italian master Nicolas Bertoux. Two other Bertoux masterpieces grace the Breezy Path parking entrance and a wall next to the swimming pool.

High-quality materials have been used for every part of façades of the building. The dignified entrance on Bonham Road — decorated with exquisite marble and stainless steel, and a night-lit portal — can stand the test of time. The entrance on Breezy Path, with an iconic folding gate, is a showcase of elegant panels and charming lamps.

The outer walls of yoo 18 Bonham are covered with high-grade terra cotta tiles from Germany — reducing conduction of heat from the sun in the summer, economising air conditioning resources, and conserving warmth in the winter. Such environmentally friendly tiles are a rarity in Hong Kong. The building's green credentials are also exemplified by its walls of green plants installed with automatic sprinkler systems and its horticultural gardens.

Compelling investment opportunity

In addition to the unprecedented craftsmanship in the design and finishing of the building, the property value of yoo 18 Bonham is bound to increase because of its proximity to amenities of modern living in Lan Kwai Fong, So Ho and vicinity, the planned Second Central-to-Mid-Levels Escalator System, and the recently completed MTR South Island Line and extension of the MTR Island Line to Western District. It is also in the vicinity of several well-known educational institutions: University of Hong Kong, King's College, St. Paul's College, Ying Wa Girls' School and St. Stephen's Girls' College.

Joseph Tsang, Managing Director at JLL is positive about the capital appreciation potential of yoo 18 Bonham: "Luxury units will likely account for just 2.2% of the 100,000 units to be completed between 2017 and 2021. About 70% of the supply of about 2,200 luxury units will be concentrated in Kowloon and New Territories while about only 600 units will be on Hong Kong Island. Luxury units in the Mid-Levels, such as yoo 18 Bonham, are indeed exciting additions to any investment portfolio."
