Schools and comprehensive transportation network make this family-orientated neighbourhood attractive
Ho Man Tin has a vibrant international history as home to Portuguese, Indian and Chinese communities. The Kowloon neighbourhood's characteristics create a melting pot, where East meets West.
For families, the district is home to prestigious school network 34, which includes the Australian, American and Yew Chung International Schools, as well as English Schools Foundation (ESF) favourites, Kowloon Junior School and King George V School. The area's education options are also expanding: Stamford American School is due to open in the centre of Ho Man Tin in September 2017.
Lots of transport options, including four MTR stations, also make it a convenient spot for commuters. With more multi-national companies decentralizing their offices to Kowloon East—and Citibank and Manulife even buying up their own office buildings in Kwun Tong—Ho Man Tin is increasingly attractive to executives wanting to live close to work. Professionals with jobs in Shenzhen, but who prefer Hong Kong's lifestyle and living standards, can travel from the Mong Kok East MTR station to the Lo Wu and Lok Ma Chau border crossings in about one hour.
The Argyle is just one example that the revitalisation of Ho Man Tin's residential areas is in full swing, to cope with renewed residential demand. The impressive new development is the brainchild of The Manhattan Group, best known for luxury Tai Tam residence, The Manhattan.
Located at the quieter end of Argyle Street, where Ho Man Tin meets the buzz and excitement of Mong Kok, The Argyle has 36 residential units, plus two floors of retail shops on its podium level. In the early 1900s, the area's Portuguese residents were reportedly the biggest non-British expat community in Kowloon. That community survives today in Ho Man Tin, with long-established ties to the nearby King George V International School and the Diocesan Boys' School. Founded in 1869, DBS is one of the most prestigious boys' schools in Hong Kong, and in recent years it opened a boarding school for students from Grades 5-12.
"We've also seen French families moving into the area because the French International School is opening a new campus in Tseung Kwan O," notes Stella.

The Argyle has two- and three-bedrooms units
with saleable areas ranging from 440 to 645 square feet. Simplex units occupy
the entire floor from the 21st storey
up and measure 980 sq ft. There is also a penthouse unit with private rooftop.
