Continental Place Launched for Strata-title Sale

The only Ginza-style commercial building available for sale in Central

HONG KONG, 26 NOVEMBER 2014 – Continental Place, 238 Des Voeux Road Central, Hong Kong, will be launched for pre-sale on strata-title basis shortly. The developer, Continental Group, has appointed JLL Hong Kong as Marketing Consultant to handle the sale of the building.

Scheduled for completion in the second quarter of 2016, Continental Place comprises 26 floors (13/F, 14/F and 24/F are omitted) with a total gross floor area of approx. 48,699 sq ft. G/F to 3/F is the commercial podium, while 6/F to 30/F have one unit per floor. Units on the higher floors enjoy good sea views of Victoria Harbour. Units on 6/F to 30/F have a typical floor plate of 1,780 sq ft, all with a highly efficient layout and floor loading of 5 kPa to cater to the needs of various retailers and food and beverage (F&B) operators. Each unit comes with imported high-end bathroom fittings and accessories, split-type air conditioners and a private washroom.  24-hour property management service is also provided to ensure round-the-clock shopping and entertainment experience.

Located in the heart of Central, Continental Place is in close proximity to the Hong Kong–Macau Ferry Terminal, which enables it to absorb customers from Hong Kong, mainland China and Macau alike.  With just a few steps away from the MTR station and the various transport modes such as tram, bus, minibus and taxi available along Des Voeux Road Central, Continental Place enjoys excellent accessibility. The vicinity abounds with Grade A office buildings and international-grade hotels. It also enjoys heavy pedestrian and traffic flows.

“Taking the commercial buildings in Manhattan, New York as reference for its architectural design, Continental Place is unique and different from the typical curtain-wall buildings in Hong Kong. It will potentially become the new landmark in the area. In view of the success of the commercial buildings designated for purely retail and F&B uses in various districts such as Causeway Bay, Wanchai, Tsimshatsui and Mongkok, we decided to make Continental Place another example in Hong Kong’s major CBD,” said Vicki Chan, Executive Director of Continental Group

“Continental Place is the only brand-new Ginza-style commercial building available for sale in Central, representing a rare, impressive investment opportunity. With its strategic location in Central’s core area, easy accessibility with just a few steps away from the MTR station and the coverage of customers from Hong Kong, mainland China and Macau, we expect Continental Place to attract the attention from both the local end-users and investors alike. In fact, Ginza-style commercial buildings that have been put up for sale so far have become the focus of the market. Examples include The Sharp, OLIV, 8 Russell Street and 18 On Lan Street. The strong market demand for such type of properties is reflected in their transactions in terms of both quantity and value,” commented Danny Chan, Regional Director of Capital Markets, JLL Hong Kong.
