Jones Lang LaSalle Pioneers the Market as the First Real Estate Firm to Establish Training Academy in Greater China

Hong Kong, 28 June 2012 – Jones Lang LaSalle pioneers the market by becoming the first real estate firm to establish a training school - the Real Estate Academy, School of Property and Asset Management in Greater China (“Academy”), which aims to nurture industry professionals by offering quality property and asset management training services.

ames Wong, Head of Property and Asset Management Greater China, said, “With the economy of Greater China growing so fast and strong over the past decade, more and more high specification buildings are available in the market across the country especially in the Mainland. However, the number of property management professionals is not catching up fast enough to cater this trend and demand.  In the market, there are certainly universities and colleges which provide  Property Management courses very much based on theoretical themes that are taught academically, but our Academy’s adopts a much more hands-on approach to both teaching and learning.  Drawing on our wealth of practical experiences and in-depth industrial knowledge, we feel that establishing the Academy is one of the most effective ways to help raise the professional level in the industry.”

he Academy has four fully equipped learning centres strategically located across Greater China in Hong Kong, Guangzhou, Shanghai and Beijing and offers best-in-class trainings in different modules including competence-based staff training, continuous professional development (CDP), experience-shared sessions as well as operational training and assessments. Courses can be tailor-made and developed to help prepare participants to manage various types of developments such as super tall buildings, green buildings, townships, shopping centres, bar streets/walking streets and serviced apartments.
With over 110 appointed lecturers and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), all equipped with related professional and academic qualifications, the Academy trains future talents through a balanced mix of theoretical knowledge as well as practical training. The Academy adopts the Notional Learning Hours (NLHs) and certification system wherein NLHs are accumulated for each officially recognised course and training activities taken towards the attainment of certificates.

As the world's leading real estate consultancy, Jones Lang LaSalle is proud to take on the mission to help shape the high-quality service standard in the region. We will bring the international standard and adapt the local knowledge we obtained over our past 30 years of experience in Greater China and pass on the knowhow and skill set to the aspired professionals. The Academy will definitely be able to enhance overall property management standards in Greater China,” Wong added.

ince its establishment, the Academy has been working with top-tier real estate companies in China including Beijing JinYu Property Operating Management Co. Ltd.; Beijing Capital Airport Holding Co.Ltd and Shanghai Feng Cheng Property Management Co. Ltd. (Shui On Group).
